1 [00:00]: This is Debbie Deutch with your KPTZ 5 p.m. traffic update.
2 [00:05]: Well, the commute is pretty much exactly what you'd expect at this hour, with heavy traffic on all major roadways.
3 [00:11]: Northbound Interstate 12 is backed up from the northern city limits, clear to the city center exit,
4 [00:17]: and southbound 12 is bumper-to-bumper north of the city, then again from downtown to the county line.
5 [00:23]: There is only one accident to report, and that's a fender bender that's blocking the right lane of eastbound Highway 1.
6 [00:30]: Also, we have a truck with a dead engine on westbound State Route 40,
7 [00:34]: and that's causing a mile-long line from the Mountain Pass to Center Park.
8 [00:39]: It is just now being helped to the shoulder of the road, so traffic should pick up on State Route 40 soon.
